Participation at the ACS Spring Meeting 2026

During the third week of March, I attended the ACS Spring Meeting at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. I participated as the Faculty Advisor of the ACS International Student Chapter at Tecnológico de Costa Rica, guiding and supervising six of our student members, who actively participated in the conference.

I presented a talk entitled “Global Collaborations Developed by ACS International Student Chapters in Latin America: A Regional Approach,” in which I highlighted the international experiences gained by several Latin American ACS student members through collaborations among ACS International Student Chapters. Moreover, I had the honor to preside part of the symposium Promoting Global Collaborations in Chemistry Education: Insights from International Initiatives, organized by the International Activities Committee of the ACS Division of Chemical Education.

During the conference, our International Student Chapter received both the Outstanding Award and the Green Chemistry Award. Those recognitions motivate us to continue working on the development of our student members at TEC. Very proud of their work!

I would like to acknowledge the Oficina de Becas at Tecnológico de Costa Rica for its financial support, which made my participation in this event possible, as well as the American Chemical Society for awarding our Chapter with the ACS Student Communities Professional Meeting Grant. With this grant it was possible for our students to pay part of their expenses and live a professional and personal experience.
